LACUNA COIL To Guest On This Weekend's 'Headbanger's Ball'

March 29, 2006

Italy's LACUNA COIL will be appearing as special, in-studio guests on this weekend's edition of "Headbanger's Ball", airing this Saturday, April 1 on MTV2. The band will be talking with host Jamey Jasta in addition to premiering their new video, "Our Truth". Check local listings for times in your time zone.

As previously reported, LACUNA COIL's latest single, "Our Truth", has entered the U.K. Top 40 singles chart at position No. 40. The single also entered the Italian national chart at position No. 23 and the Spanish chart at No. 19. In addition, the "Our Truth" video is currently in "SuperHot" rotation on MTV Italy, where it has eclipsed the likes of BLACK EYED PEAS, FALL OUT BOY and OASIS in terms of airplay, according to EmptySpiral.net.

LACUNA COIL's new album, "Karmacode", is scheduled for release on April 4 via Century Media Records.

LACUNA COIL's 2002 album "Comalies" has sold more than 230,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan. Marco Barbieri, Century Media president for North America, says the record has sold 500,000 units worldwide.

LACUNA COIL's popularity on the metal front is already sealed: They will be on the cover of at least a half-dozen metal magazines this spring. But the group also is gaining mainstream exposure: An April appearance on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" and a segment of "The Mix" on ABC News are slated, according to Billboard.
